Clarity of Message Helps Plastic Surgery Practice Reveal True Essence
PITTSBURGH (September 14, 2005) -- The surgeons of Premier Plastic Surgery knew their practice was special. Different. More than what so many others in the field were promoting about themselves.
But they couldn’t seem to capture that special difference, the essence that represented their competitive advantage in an increasingly crowded marketplace.
With the help of message development specialists at ClearBrands, Premier Plastic Surgery emerged from the pack with a distinctive and compelling description of what they represent to patients – namely, the best option to carry out the individual’s highly personal decision to make a change.
“The folks at ClearBrands were really able to get into our heads,” said Dana Heil. “We now have a soft, yet very straightforward approach to our market. We have our message, and it’s so clear and concise that we use the exact same language when holding patient consultations. The branding ClearBrands helped establish has given us a framework to deliver our message in a consistent fashion. It’s captured who we are perfectly, and we’re getting busier as a result. Since we launched the new marketing campaign, our business has increased 30 percent.”.

Strategic Partners ClearBrands and Buzzhoney Unite
Duo Offers Unmatched Integrated Branding and Precision Marketing Services
PITTSBURGH (June 9, 2005) -- Brian Cubarney and Chris Bannon know their businesses – the highly specialized worlds of brand strategy and marketing technology – and how clients can benefit from synergies created when those worlds combine with skill and power.
As a result of that knowledge, their two companies – Cubarney’s ClearBrands Inc. and Bannon’s Buzzhoney Inc. – have entered into an agreement to combine their resources in a unique partnership. In recent years, Cubarney and Bannon’s firms collaborated on project work – whenever a client required one or the other’s expertise. With growing signs of branding and marketing technology converging, the two consultants saw an opportunity to combine their talents.
Cubarney will continue to serve as CEO and creative director of ClearBrands with a managing partner role in Buzzhoney as director of brand strategy. Bannon will continue to serve as CEO of Buzzhoney with a managing partner role in ClearBrands as director of marketing technology.
“Chris and I work really well together,” said Cubarney. “We respect the talent and knowledge each other brings to the table and we saw a clear advantage for bringing our firms’ capabilities together. For years my group focused on the things we were good at and could make an impact on – providing small and middle-market companies brand marketing strategy and design. But, like every other agency, we fell short when it came to being able to reach our clients’ customers more directly at the right times. Or actually being able to measure and ultimately refine the results of our client’s marketing investments. We just didn’t have the ability and the technology wasn’t there yet. Chris and his team at Buzzhoney were at the forefront of this kind of stuff. He’s truly an expert on the subject. The two of us saw the fit.”
Bannon agreed, saying, “We’re strong in software and technology and we know how to do research and mine data, build the right systems and reach customers with precision. We pride ourselves in our ability to design smart web sites and custom software applications. However, we were weak in the area of defining a company’s brand essence – their image and messaging strategy and the creative behind it. ClearBrands filled the gap perfectly.”
The pairing of these two firms is bearing fruitful results. “We’ve developed an integrated approach to branding and marketing that’s unlike anything else being done,” said Cubarney. “It’s a precise and measurable way to build a business’s brand and market it more effectively. And it cuts out the waste and mystery of traditional mass advertising and shotgun approaches.
“We can look at a company's interaction with their customers and identify a number of touch points to improve the amount of sales they make,” Cubarney said. “Or we can improve the close ratio of their sales team, or increase the number of qualified leads. Every step along this process, which Chris refers to as a life cycle marketing approach, we can advance the sale. It's all about helping our clients make – and save –more money.”
“It's a marketing approach that takes into account every phase of our client's interaction with their customers,” said Bannon. “Like ClearBrands’ ‘3-D’ approach to branding (define, design, deliver), our efforts reside in the ‘delivery’ end. From here we focus on pre-sales, sales, and customer relationship, which is the ongoing process of how you communicate with your customers after you've made the sale.
“Every customer—from before they're even aware of your company—has a series of goals and things they're looking to achieve,” Bannon continued. “So we break down the mindset and goals of the customers as they are moving through these stages. We find out what their needs are, what their problems are at each phase, and develop tactics that our client companies can act on. This life cycle approach is a natural way that marketing can help strategic planning, engage customers, and improve the process of selling and closing a deal.”
“Most marketing and advertising agencies do their best at creating ads and commercials and many make a good living on the media buys alone,” said Cubarney. “But many of those traditional tactics often prove wasteful for business-to-business companies because most have very defined audiences with very defined needs. We can provide a more granular approach, reaching qualified customers on a one-to-one basis, at the right times. That means less waste, customer centricity, better leads, and greater visibility with results. It also means stronger customer relationships and ultimate loyalty with your brand. Your marketing department can be much more effective – and accountable – than ever before.”
